These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern the use of the Ring Reader application ("App"), available at ringreader.app and as a progressive web application, operated by apocha UG (haftungsbeschränkt), Im Brachmoos 12, 88149 Nonnenhorn, Germany ("we", "us", "Provider").
By using the App, you ("User") agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the App.
These Terms apply to all users regardless of the product tier used. Conflicting or supplementary terms of the User shall not apply unless expressly agreed to in writing.
Ring Reader is a shooting target analysis application. Users photograph their shooting targets (paper strips), and the App uses image recognition to identify individual targets, detect shot holes, and calculate ISSF decimal scores.
The App is offered in the following product tiers, each available as a one-time purchase (not a subscription):
No tier of the App contains advertisements.
The scoring results provided by the App are for informational and training purposes only. They do not constitute official ISSF scoring and shall not be used as the sole basis for competition results.
The Free tier does not require registration. To use paid features (Plus or Pro), the User must create an account by authenticating via a supported sign-in method (e.g., Google Sign-In).
The User is responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their account credentials and for all activities conducted under their account.
By initiating a purchase of the Plus or Pro tier through the App, the User submits a binding offer to purchase a digital product. The contract is concluded when the payment is successfully processed and the User receives confirmation.
Payments are processed by Paddle.com Market Limited ("Paddle"), which acts as Merchant of Record. Paddle handles all payment processing, invoicing, and sales tax obligations on behalf of the Provider. By making a purchase, the User also agrees to Paddle's terms of service.
The prices for the Plus and Pro tiers are displayed in the App prior to purchase. All prices include applicable statutory value-added tax (VAT). The exact price including VAT may vary based on the User's country of residence, as determined by Paddle.
Plus and Pro are one-time purchases. There are no recurring charges, no automatic renewals, and no hidden fees. Once purchased, the User retains access to the purchased tier indefinitely for the current version of the App.
Available payment methods are determined by Paddle and may include credit card, PayPal, and other regional payment options.
If you are a consumer within the European Union, you have a statutory right of withdrawal of 14 days from the date of contract conclusion.
However, because Ring Reader's paid tiers are digital content not supplied on a tangible medium, you expressly consent that we begin delivery of the digital content immediately upon purchase and you acknowledge that you thereby lose your right of withdrawal pursuant to Art. 16(m) of Directive 2011/83/EU (as implemented in Section 356(5) of the German Civil Code, BGB).
Regardless of the above waiver, we offer a voluntary 14-day refund window from the date of purchase. Details are set out in our Refund Policy.
If the digital content is not delivered or is materially defective, your statutory rights remain unaffected.
The User agrees to:
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these obligations.
The App is provided "as is." While we strive for accuracy in target analysis and score calculation, we do not warrant that results will be error-free. Image recognition accuracy depends on factors such as image quality, lighting conditions, and target condition.
Our liability is limited as follows:
We process personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy, available at ringreader.app/privacy. The Privacy Policy forms an integral part of these Terms.
In the Free tier, all data remains exclusively on the User's device. In the Plus and Pro tiers, session data is synced to our servers for cross-device access. Target images are processed locally on the device and are not transmitted to our servers.
We may modify these Terms from time to time. Users will be notified of material changes through the App. Continued use of the App after notification constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If the User does not agree to the revised Terms, they must discontinue use of the App.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG).
For merchants (Kaufleute), legal entities under public law, or public-law special funds, the exclusive place of jurisdiction is Kempten (Allgäu), Germany.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect. The invalid provision shall be replaced by a valid provision that most closely reflects the economic intent of the original provision.
The European Commission provides an online dispute resolution platform at https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. We are neither obligated nor willing to participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
